Senior doggo Teddy is a new man!
Teddy’s story is one of heartbreak down in Mexico - he was chained to a rooftop by his old ‘owner’ for what we estimate was around 2 years.
One of Teddy’s neighbours ended up calling the Environmental Protection Office of Mexico, and they sent in our partner to get Teddy and help him get healthy.
Teddy was found with his brother who was cleaned up and sent to Montreal right away.
Teddy was a bit harder to learn to trust at first, and he didn’t receive any adoption interest. After months of searching, the perfect family finally came upon Teddy and wanted to bring him home!
Teddy made the long journey to Canada and he is now living an amazing life with his new mum and dad. He spends his days playing with his toy giraffe, cuddling Dad while he works, and visiting his grandpaw-rents for extra pets!
Here is what Teddy’s new family had to say about how he is settling in:
“Teddy has been with us for about six weeks now, and he has settled in so well that it feels like he has been with us for years. With each passing week, more of his personality emerges – and he certainly has no shortage of personality. He is playful, comical, loving, and cuddly. He also feels compelled to scare away strange noises in the middle of the night, but we’re working on that.
Teddy is incredibly social. When we are out walking or visiting our parents at the assisted living facility, he wants to meet everybody and he is such a bubbly little guy that everyone seems to want to meet him too. He interacts well with other dogs as well as our son’s cats.
There are a few health issues we are working out arising from a background of neglect (not unlike buying a used car, I suppose), but having him in our home makes any of those headaches more than worthwhile.
In short, it took him no time at all to adopt us and sink his roots here. We love the little guy.”
