Mira is the luckiest gal around!
As a small puppy, Mira was left outside of the shelter with a broken leg. The amazing humans at the shelter made sure she got surgery to correct the fracture, but unfortunately she had a long period of immobilization afterwards.
As a result, she is not able to bend her back knee, so she walks with her leg permanently outstretched. Luckily, this did not deter her amazing new mama from adopting her! Here is what she had to say when we checked in about how Mira is doing:
davey (formerly mira) has settled in to vancouver life pretty seamlessly. she bonded very quick to her new one year old baby brother (the hairless, walks on two feet variety) and likes to watch over him (especially around breakfast, lunch, and dinner times).
she is full of energy when outside playing at the beach or parks, her unbending back leg doesn’t slow her down at all! inside she’s very calm and cuddly.
after having lost both my senior dogs last year, i feel very fortunate to have this little ball of cuteness join the family.
thank you so much zoë and hannah for all the work you do, and to the shelter in mexico for taking these dogs in and getting them the care they deserve. can’t thank you all enough!
